POS Offline Mode – Configuration & Usage Guide
O2VEND POS Offline Mode ensures uninterrupted billing even when the internet connection is unstable. Offline Mode must be enabled inside the Store Features settings before it becomes active in the POS. The following guide explains the setup and each screen shown in the workflow.
1. Enable POS Offline Mode
There is a dedicated key inside the Features section that must be turned on to activate offline mode.
Navigation:
Back Office → Settings → Features → Enable POS Offline Mode
Once enabled, POS will automatically save required data in the browser to function without internet.
2. Offline Indicator – Blue Cloud Icon
When the system detects that the internet is frequently dropping or unstable, the POS automatically prepares for offline operations.
A Blue Cloud Icon appears in the POS header, indicating:
- Required data is downloaded
- POS is safe to operate offline
- Billing can continue even if the internet goes off completely
This icon assures the cashier that POS is ready for offline usage.
3. Using POS in Offline Mode
Once the Blue Cloud icon is visible: When click the blue icon, a popup appears with the message: offline mode is enabled.
- POS continues working without interruptions
- Products, customers, and cart operations function normally
- Bills are saved locally
- All pending bills sync automatically once the internet returns
This ensures fast and uninterrupted billing during poor network conditions.
4. Auto Sync When Internet Returns
After connectivity is restored:
- All locally stored bills sync to the server
- Stock and sales reports automatically update
- No manual action is required
This provides a seamless experience even in unstable network locations.
3. Product List & Cart – Offline Billing
The POS continues to function during Offline Mode:
- Product search
- Adding products to cart
- Editing item quantities
- Applying discounts
- Viewing product grid
What appears on the screen:
- Product items fully usable
- Cart section active
- Local storage indicator visible
- Banner saying “Working in Offline Mode”
5. Payment Screen – Order Creation in Offline Mode
Offline mode supports all standard payment operations:
- Cash
- Card (manual)
- Wallet
- Custom tenders
Allows checkout to proceed normally and stores orders securely until sync.
